Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many times it is difficult to know whether a problem or concern is "just a phase." If you or your family member is experiencing difficulties (emotionally, academically, behaviorally, or developmentally), you owe it to yourself and your family to do something about it. The earlier challenges are recognized and professional help is sought, the greater the chances that you and your family will be helped to overcome these difficulties.
Anger is a normal, usually healthy emotion we all experience. But when anger gets out of hand, it can cause problems at home and at work. There are ways you can get control of your anger, instead of letting it control you. If anger has become a problem I can help you develop more flexible thinking and learn the accept the things you cannot change.
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms. Ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes showing EMDR therapy as a helpful treatment for disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences.
